TIS Web®  VDS

The TIS Web®  VDS Service is able to communicate OBD data via CUTE or OBD Bluetooth dongle from VDO.

  • The service shows you the current status of your passenger car vehicle e.g vehicle usage, driver alerts ect.
  • This information could be very interesting for rental, leasing or insurance companies to acuire knowledge about vehicle diagnostics for car service planning.
  • In order to use TIS Web®  VDS Service you need to have the VDO OBD Bluetooth¹ dongle or CUTE device installed inside the passenger car vehicle.

CUTE

On-Board Unit CUTE is a compact, self- contained device which can be mounted inside the cabin of a vehicle  and it combines telematics functionalities like GNSS (GPS/Glonass) and cellular communications (GSM/GPRS)

On-Board  Unit  CUTE  is  connected  with the vehicle’s CAN and K-Line by a dedicated OBD cable with OBD2 connector.

OBD Dongle

OBD-BT-Dongle is an adapter which is plugged into the OBD port of vehicles in order to provide diagnostics data to a Bluetooth-connected computing device, e.g. a Smartphone or a telematics control unit (TCU). 

OBD-BT-Dongle can act as a CAN to Bluetooth converter providing selected CAN messages over the Bluetooth interface.

A ‘‘script‘‘ can be loaded onto OBD-BT-Dongle which describes a vehicle-type specific diagnostics application, enabling deeper diagnostics functionality than standard OBD allows (Level 2 diagnostics).
